Esther Star
In 2018, Luna Moon by BOCOPO Playing Card Company sold out on Kickstarter in just 24 hours. Esther Star is Luna Moon's successor and proceeded to break all previous records, selling out in 19 hours on launch day.
Whilst the tuck case of the Classic Edition reverts back to a 'standard' format - the cards enclosed are identical to those from the Deluxe Edition which features a hexagonal opening that is designed to resemble starlight, neither dazzling nor bleak. Crafted through multiple layers of Kurz foil paper from Germany and Neenah Paper from France, each Deluxe Edition tuck case is assembled by hand. The result is an incredibly visual display from a tuck case that, when fanned open, forces the cards to rise out of a central pocket.
Like outer space, the back design of Esther Star is infinitely dark and features a stunning green nebula with stars shining below two moons. Symbolism is laced throughout this deck with the original black colour for Spades and Clubs being replaced with a deep-green, denoting harmony and hope.
Two non-identical Jokers are included with each deck and bear the words 'Star of Hope' - a reference to the North Star, Polaris, and its ability to guide lost travellers due to its stable positioning. Polaris symbolises persistence, eternal guardianship and provides us with guidance to reach our end goal.
