Produced by theory11 in collaboration with "The Millionaire's Magician", Steve Cohen, for his show Chamber Magic.
Cohen became the first magician in a half-century to sell out Carnegie Hall in 2012. The year after, in August 2013, theory11 began a quest to create playing cards fit for display at the legendary Palace Hotel in New York. Enter Tycoon Playing Cards.
Cohen performs weekly in an elegant salon in the Lotte New York Palace hotel (having moved from Waldorf Astoria), his show features conjuring, mind-reading and sleight of hand; baffling his guests with close-up magic as he recreates parlour entertainment that characterised Manhattan in the early 20th century. How fitting therefore, that he have his very own deck.
Featuring custom court cards licensed from Fournier in Villareal de Álava, Spain, the Jacks, Queens, and Kings have skin tone faces and are joined by an elegant and stylish Joker and Ace of Spades.
Also available in Crimson Red, Green, Ivory and Black, the cards are produced by United States Playing Card Company using FSC-certified papers derived from sustainable forests, vegetable-based inks, and starch-based laminates.
