Produced by Art of Play in collaboration with Paula Scher, Jeff Close and Kristin Huber from renowned design studio, Pentagram, Just Type is a modern reinterpretation of classic playing card design.
Widely regarded as a titan of the graphic design world, redefining what we know as modern typography, Scher has playfully deconstructed the classic French design of traditional "playing cards" and removed all extraneous elements. All that's left is Just Type.
The First Edition embraces big, bold postmodern elements. Oversized numbers constructed of simple shapes fill the entirety of each card. While each composition could stand on its own as a piece of art, taken together, this collection of 56 images represents a totally unique approach to a familiar form factor. Each number and letter is pushed to the breaking point, shattered into elemental pieces that evoke abstraction, yet communicate so clearly, they can be read from across the room.

We despatch all orders within 24 hours and offer free UK shipping on purchases over £20. International customers receive a flat-rate shipping fee with prices starting at £11 to destinations in Europe.

When it comes to Returns, our policy lasts 30 days. Any longer than this unfortunately we cannot offer you a refund or exchange. Orders are processed and despatched within 24 hours. You will receive a confirmation email with tracking details once your order has been shipped.

That depends on where you are. Orders delivered within the UK will typically take 1-3 business days to arrive from date of despatch. Deliveries within Europe take approximately from 6-8 working days and the rest of the world, 6-12 working days. A tracking number is provided for all orders via email at the time of despatch. When do items restock?

We typically replenish stock every 2-4 weeks however, some products in our catalogue are of a limited print-run and therefore require outsourcing from third parties. This process adds additional time and uncertainty and in some instances, results in items being removed from our store due to an inability to source stock or find product at the right price. In this case, the product in question will end up in our Archive - a dedicated space for all decks that have been listed on our store but that are no longer available to purchase.
