Not-Quite-New
We're proud to say we've never had a product returned to us due to damage in transit. However, over the years, a small number of decks have arrived to us with minor damage or manufacturing defects - a dented tuck box, a torn cellophane wrap, a misplaced sticker seal, or, in some cases, light handling during marketing and promotional photography. The cards themselves almost always unused, so rather than write these decks off, we've inspected, graded, and listed them here at a discount.
Every deck is carefully checked before listing and, where more than one unit is available, we photograph the worst-condition example, so you always know what to expect, or better.
Below, you'll find a full breakdown of our three condition grades: Excellent, Good, and Fair, along with answers to common questions.

Excellent
Tuck case is in its original cellophane with negligible defects such as light shelf wear, imperfect cellophane wrapping or a faint marks and scuffs that do not affect the box structure. Cards are brand-new and have not been used.

Good
Tuck case is in its original cellophane but has noticeable cosmetic damage, which may include dented corners, a tear or split in the cellophane wrap, sticker or price-tag residue, or fading and discolouration. Cards are brand-new and have not been used.

Fair
Tuck case is out of its cellophane, has visible signs of use or significant defects and damage. Cards may have been used for marketing and promotional photography only but have not been extensively handled.
Frequently asked questions
How do you decide which grade a deck gets?
How do you decide which grade a deck gets?
Every deck is individually inspected before listing. We check the tuck case for damage to the cellophane wrap, box structure, and print, as well as whether the cards themselves show any signs of use, if the box has been opened. Based on this, each deck is assigned a grade of Excellent, Good, or Fair which are outlined in more detail above.
Is the deck pictured the one I'll receive?
Is the deck pictured the one I'll receive?
Not necessarily. Where more than one unit is in stock, we always grade the deck with the worst damage and use that as the representative photo - since we can't photograph every individual deck, or guarantee which specific unit you'll receive. Every deck is still inspected and falls within its assigned grade's stated condition, but the exact deck you receive may differ slightly in appearance from the one photographed.
Can I request to see a photo of the actual deck before I buy?
Can I request to see a photo of the actual deck before I buy?
Where a deck has multiple inventory available, we are not able to provide a photograph before purchase as we cannot guarantee which deck you will receive when an order is fulfilled and despatched.
If there is only one item left of the deck you are looking to purchase, please contact us if you wish to receive a photo before placing an order. Please note that stock is available on a first-come, first-serve basis and, whilst we endeavour to respond to all messages within 24-hours, we cannot be held responsible if the product gets purchased in the time it takes for us to complete your request.
Are the playing cards themselves ever damaged?
Are the playing cards themselves ever damaged?
Damaged? No. Lightly used? Sometimes. Across our top two grades, Excellent and Good, the cards themselves are always brand-new and have not been played with. Our Fair grade can include decks that have been used for promotional photography and are out of their original cellophane wrap but are never extensively handled. Fair decks always have their cards checked and counted before listing to ensure all are accounted for.
How do you decide a price?
How do you decide a price?
Pricing is based on the current retail or market value of the deck, with a discount applied according to its condition grade. For decks that are still in print, this is our standard retail price. For rarer or out-of-print decks, we price against current market value, which may be higher than the deck's original retail price when it was first sold.
Can I return a Not-Quite-New deck if I'm not happy with it?
Can I return a Not-Quite-New deck if I'm not happy with it?
Yes. Not-Quite-New decks are covered by our standard Returns Policy. If you feel a deck has arrived in worse condition than its stated grade describes, please get in touch and we'll put it right.
Are Not-Quite-New decks covered by the same guarantee as full-price items?
Are Not-Quite-New decks covered by the same guarantee as full-price items?
Yes. Aside from the condition of the tuck case and packaging, Not-Quite-New decks are the same genuine products as our full-price stock, and are therefore covered by the same guarantee and customer support.
